1. Who we are

Travel With Mikael is a travel planning service operated by Mikael Casavant, a certified travel counsellor in Québec (Office de la protection du consommateur certificate CCV202412354004). Bookings are made through Vasco Beauport et la Côte, holder of a Québec permit (no. 703296).

2. Information we collect

• What you send us through the inquiry form: name, email address, phone number, travel dates, number of travellers, type of request, and details about your trip.
• What you share with us by email, phone, or the site's chat.
• Your email address and consent, if you subscribe to the newsletter.
• When booking: the information suppliers require (for example names as they appear on passports, dates of birth, contact details, preferences, and special needs). Payments are processed by the agency or suppliers, not by this website.
• Technical browsing data (IP address, device and browser type, pages visited, how you arrived) collected through cookies and similar technologies.

3. Why we use it

• To answer your requests and offer you a consultation.
• To plan your trip, make and manage your bookings, and support you before and during your travels.
• To meet our legal obligations, including those under Québec's Travel Agents Act.
• To send you the monthly newsletter and run the monthly draw, if you subscribed.
• To measure site traffic and the performance of our advertising so we can improve them.

We only use your information for the purposes you consented to or that the law allows. You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to us.

4. Sharing with third parties

We never sell your personal information. We only share it as needed:

• with Vasco Beauport et la Côte, the agency holding the permit under which your bookings are made;
• with the travel suppliers your booking requires (carriers, accommodations, insurers, etc.);
• with Charles William Trudel-Gendron, financial security advisor, if you ask for a travel insurance quote;
• with our technology providers: Tally (forms), Tidio (chat), Google (email, Google Analytics, Google Ads, Google Cloud and Firebase hosting), and Bunny.net (website content delivery).

5. Information stored outside Québec

Some of these providers store or process information outside Québec, including elsewhere in Canada, in the United States, and in the European Union. Before entrusting them with information, we assess that it will receive adequate protection, as the law requires.

6. Cookies

Non-essential cookies are only turned on with your consent. On your first visit, a banner lets you accept all, reject all, or choose by category. Until you choose, only necessary cookies are used.

• Necessary (always on): remembering your cookie choices. They're not used to track you.
• Analytics: Google Analytics, to understand site traffic and improve the site.
• Advertising: Google Ads, to measure our ads' performance and show you relevant ads.
• Chat: Tidio, which provides the chat window and sets its own cookies.

Your choice is kept for 12 months on your device. You can change it or withdraw your consent at any time with the “Manage cookies” link at the bottom of every page; Google cookies already set are then deleted.

7. Retention

Inquiries that don't lead to a booking are kept for no more than 24 months. Booking records are kept for as long as the law requires. Information is then securely destroyed or anonymized.

8. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information: limited access, accounts protected by strong authentication, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and reputable providers. If a confidentiality incident presents a risk of serious injury, we will notify the affected people and Québec's Commission d'accès à l'information.

9. Your rights

You can ask to access your information, have it corrected, withdraw your consent, or receive your information in a structured technological format. Write to us at bonjour@travelwithmikael.com; we will reply within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can file a complaint with Québec's Commission d'accès à l'information (cai.gouv.qc.ca).
