Terms of Use

1. Purpose

These terms govern your use of travelwithmikael.com and the travel planning services offered by Travel With Mikael. By using the site or our services, you accept them.

2. Who we are

Travel With Mikael is operated by Mikael Casavant, a certified travel counsellor in Québec (OPC certificate CCV202412354004). Travel bookings are made through Vasco Beauport et la Côte, holder of a Québec permit (no. 703296).

3. Our services

• The first consultation is free and comes with no commitment.
• Planning services (research, itinerary design, coordination) are subject to fees that are quoted and agreed to in writing before work begins.
• Planning fees are separate from the price of travel services (flights, accommodation, etc.), which is presented to you before any booking.

4. Bookings

Bookings are made by Vasco Beauport et la Côte with suppliers (carriers, accommodations, tour operators, insurers). Those suppliers' terms, including change and cancellation fees, apply and are shared with you before booking. Prices are only guaranteed once the booking is confirmed and paid.

Services purchased from a travel agent holding a Québec permit are governed by Québec's Travel Agents Act. Depending on the applicable conditions, you may be eligible for compensation from the Fonds d'indemnisation des clients des agents de voyages (FICAV).

5. Your responsibilities

• Provide accurate and complete information, including names exactly as they appear on passports.
• Hold valid travel documents (passport, visas, authorizations, vaccinations) and follow the entry rules of the countries you visit. Our advice on these matters is for guidance only; check requirements with official sources such as travel.gc.ca.
• Purchase adequate travel insurance, which we strongly recommend. Travel insurance is offered in partnership with Charles William Trudel-Gendron, financial security advisor; Travel With Mikael does not provide insurance advice.

6. Cancelling planning services

Planning fees pay for work performed. Payment, cancellation, and refund terms are set out in the written agreement made before work begins.

7. Liability

We act with care and diligence. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for the acts or omissions of travel suppliers, or for events beyond our control (weather, strikes, government decisions, pandemics, etc.). Nothing in these terms limits your rights under Québec's Consumer Protection Act.

8. Website content

Site content is provided for information and may change without notice. Text, images, and graphics belong to Travel With Mikael or their respective owners and may not be reproduced without permission. Links to third-party sites (such as Tally or Instagram) are the responsibility of those third parties.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Québec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
